This version explicitly claims to be Word 10 compatible and it has reduced the problem. Found a recent Dell post and installed what is assumed to be a later version (unclear why this was not updated automatically). I ordered some candy bags for the birth of my baby, they arrived in perfect condition, carefully packed individually, really very nice, exactly as in the photo. Started with the implication that “Dell Update and Recovery” is part of the problem. I have been tied up for a couple of days but today I have been able to return to the problem.
